About La Casa de Sweets
La Casa de Sweets is a hodgepodge of everything that makes my life sweet: family, God, gardening, doing good deeds, and eating nature-based food. For most of my life, I’ve enjoyed a vegetarian, mainly plant-based lifestyle, and I wouldn’t change it for anything. Raising our little family in our little home, we like to live as close to Nature as possible. That’s why we grow as much of our own fruits and vegetables as we can, eat organic foods, and spend a lot of time enjoying God’s creation. The recipes on La Casa de Sweets are always meatless, sometimes vegan, gluten-free, or naturally-sweetened, and always created by me. Welcome to my sweet world!
Hi, and welcome to La Casa de Sweets! I’m Jackie, the recipe creator and food photographer behind La Casa de Sweets. I love to bake, anything and everything. Chocolate is the best (a Spanish invention, of course!), but I love all sweets…
I’m a charity fundraiser baker, which means I bake and blog to raise money and awareness for special causes like childhood hunger and childhood cancer. I work with companies and bakers across the country to raise money for child-related causes. Raising money for groups like Share Our Strength and Cookies for Kids Cancer is what keeps me a happy baker and blogger!
Away from my blog, I’m a busy wife, mother, daughter, sister, middle school teacher (taking a break to raise my daughters!), Seventh-day Adventist child of a loving God.
I have been blessed with the most loving, talented husband (my high school sweetheart!), and the two most precious little nenas–our dream come true! They keep me busy, along with my spirited Puerto Rican family. We are living our life for God, one sweet day at a time.
I hope you enjoy the recipes found here, and I’d love to hear about your own baking adventures.
I hope your life is filled with God’s Love…and chocolate!
